Cusco – Waqra Pukara – Cusco
Our transport will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco between 3:30 and 4:00 AM to begin this exciting adventure to the pre-Inca fortress of Waqra Pukara.
We will make a journey of approximately 2.5 hours with a stop to enjoy a comforting breakfast en route. During the trip, our guide will provide information about the history and significance of this archaeological site.
At 6:30 AM we will begin the hike to Waqra Pukara accompanied by our professional guide, who will explain about the flora, fauna, impressive canyons and views of the Apurimac River. The ascent hike takes approximately 3 hours.
At 9:30 AM we will arrive at the pre-Inca fortress, where we will have 2 hours to explore its structures, learn about its history and enjoy the panoramic views. The construction on horn-shaped rock formations is a unique spectacle.
At 11:30 AM we will begin the return hike to the starting point. At 1:30 PM we will enjoy a typical regional lunch. Afterwards, at 2:30 PM we will embark on the return journey to Cusco, arriving at approximately 6:30 PM.
