Complete Sacred Valley tour with Chinchero, Maras and Moray. Visit Chinchero, Moray, Maras Salt Mines, Pisac and Ollantaytambo with buffet lunch included. The ultimate VIP experience.
Sacred Valley tour with Chinchero, Maras and Moray. Explore the most fascinating places in the heart of the Andes: the picturesque town of Chinchero with its ancestral textiles, the mysterious circular terraces of Moray, the Maras salt mines, the imposing archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo and Pisac with its famous artisan market.
This VIP tour combines the best of the Sacred Valley in a single day, with a buffet lunch in Urubamba and detailed guided visits at each site.
Our transfer or guide will pick you up from your hotels between 6:00 and 6:30 a.m. We will travel north for approximately 40 minutes to reach the archaeological center of Chinchero, a living town that still preserves the original Inca design, located in an important agricultural area. The church and tower date from the colonial era and were built on the foundations of ancient Inca temples. Here, artisans offer locally made textiles using ancestral techniques.
After the visit, we will head to the Moray area, a circular terrace system built by taking advantage of a natural depression in the terrain. These platforms create microclimates and were used for experimental purposes, such as the domestication, acclimatization, and hybridization of plant species.
Next, we will visit the Maras Salt Mines, exploited since pre-Inca times. They have more than 3,000 shallow pools belonging to about 380 families. The salt comes from natural springs that emerge from a hill called Qoripukiu (Golden Spring). Afterward, we will continue to Urubamba to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch.
After lunch, we will travel by bus for approximately 30 minutes to the archaeological center of Ollantaytambo. This site was successively occupied over time and, during the Inca era, functioned as a multifunctional city with administrative, military, social, and economic functions, as well as being a control point for various ecological levels.
After the visit, we will head to the archaeological center of Pisac, whose name comes from the Quechua word "P'isa". Its lands were cultivated through intelligent terrace systems with irrigation channels, which allowed the cultivation of the world's best corn. In Pisac, we will also have the opportunity to purchase handicrafts, ceramics, and souvenirs at its famous artisan market.
Our tour will conclude with the return to Cusco, with an approximate arrival time of 6:30 p.m.
