This 28-meter-long hanging bridge is renewed every year in June by local communities using ancestral techniques passed down through generations. It is the last Inca vegetable fiber bridge still in use, a living testimony of Andean engineering and tradition.

Cusco – Canas – Q'eswachaka – Cusco

Pickup from your hotel in Cusco between 5:00 and 5:30 AM. We begin the journey to the province of Canas, enjoying the Andean landscapes as dawn breaks. Energizing breakfast en route to prepare for the adventure.

We continue the journey until we reach the Q'eswachaka bridge (3,700 m.a.s.l.), a hanging bridge made of vegetable fiber woven by local communities. Our guide will explain the history, ancestral construction techniques and cultural importance of this bridge declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

You will have the opportunity to explore and cross the hanging bridge over the Apurimac River, a unique and unforgettable experience. Time to explore the surroundings of the river canyon and take spectacular photographs of the landscape.

We enjoy a typical Andean lunch with local gastronomy dishes. After lunch, we embark on the return journey to Cusco, arriving approximately at 4:30 PM.
