Richard Velásquez Guevara: Ambassador of Tourism Management in Peru

Lima, August 19, 2025 – The Kuska Yanapay Association, in an official ceremony held on August 18 at the Basadre Auditorium of PromPerú (San Isidro), awarded Mr. Richard Velásquez Guevara the title of “Ambassador of Tourism Management of Peru,” in recognition of his outstanding professional career and his ongoing contributions to strengthening the nation's wealth through tourism.

Mr. Velásquez Guevara, current General Manager of Machupicchu Agency, is recognized as one of the most influential leaders in the country's tourism sector, with over a decade of experience, multiple international certifications, and accolades such as the Qente Award and the CALTUR Gold Level Seal.

This new distinction represents another step in his firm commitment to consolidating Peru as a strategic and sustainable tourist destination in the eyes of the world.

ONE STEP FURTHER: PERU FAM TRIP 2025

As part of its international outreach efforts, Machupicchu Agency is currently organizing the PERU FAM TRIP 2025, which will bring together 130 travel agents from Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, and other Latin American countries in September, including presidents of tourism associations, renowned tour operators, and industry leaders.

The event will explore the country's main destinations: Lima, Paracas, Ica, Cusco, and Machu Picchu, combining cultural, gastronomic, and strategic experiences to strengthen tourism business partnerships.

This initiative will also have the valuable support of the renowned influencer "Yo Soy el Charro de México," who will participate as Peru's Tourism Ambassador in Mexico, showcasing the country's image to his more than 6 million social media followers.

The FAM TRIP PERU 2025 is projected to be one of the most significant events on the year's tourism promotion agenda, consolidating Peru as a world-class destination and reinforcing Machupicchu Agency's leadership as a leading tour operator in Latin America.
